This year we had to say good night to our baby Guillermina "Guille”. She and her cuddles are missed.
The art behind the post card
This post card was 95% generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
80% was created by Microsoft DALL-E.
15% Adobe Photoshop Generative Fill.
5% Details done by Luisa on the iPad.
Step 1
First we created the base image using Microsoft DALL-E. https://www.bing.com/chat
(this is free by the way you just need to create a Microsoft free email account.)
The prompt that was used to generate the image was: “Generate an image of a black cat, a grey cat, a young hispanic girl, a young hispanic boy, playing in the snow, in the style of a vintage children's storybook.”
By default all AI images are square. As you could see it was almost all there with a few extra cats in the background and cats have white patches too.
Here are a few other attempts until we got something that we liked and we could work with.
Step 2
We wanted the photo to be 4x6 (rectangle) not square. We then used Adobe Photoshop Generative Fill. (this program is not free). This scans your image and uses AI to generate an image where you told it to.
Here we told it to generate more of the image to the LEFT and RIGHT.
And then we told it to remove the two cats in the middle. The black spot in the middle represents the original image above.
Here is the image 95% complete.
Step 3
Adding the finishing touches. This is the only non AI part.
In this step Luisa removed the white patches from the black and grey cat and added the text “Feliz Navidad” on top.
